Giant Flower: Terms of Hire & Purchase

These flowers are handmade with love and designed to last. To keep things clear for everyone, I’ve put together a simple guide to hiring, purchasing, and caring for your giant blooms. Please read through before confirming your order—it helps make sure your flowers stay as beautiful as the day they arrive.

Ventana Crepe Flower Hire Agreement

This Agreement sets out the terms and conditions for hiring handmade crepe paper flowers and lamps from Ventana. By hiring, the Buyer agrees to the following:

  1. Hire Period: Standard hire is 48 hours unless otherwise agreed- happy to be flexible, up to a week, based on availability.

  2. Care of Flowers: Flowers are delicate, handmade artworks. They must be handled with care and kept away from food, drink, children climbing, rain, heavy wind and open flames.

  3. Damage Clause: The hirer accepts responsibility for any damage or loss during the hire period. The minimum to maximum charge for a damaged flower is $50-150 per flower. To be determined upon inspection.

  4. Transportation: Hirer is responsible for safe transportation unless installation has been booked.

  5. Weather: Flowers are not suitable for wet or extremely windy outdoor conditions. The hirer is responsible for ensuring safe placement.

  6. Deposit & Payment: 50% to secure booking, balance due 14 days before event.

  7. Cancellation Policy: Full refund if cancelled 14+ days before hire; 50% refund if cancelled 7–13 days; no refund if cancelled less than 7 days prior to hire date.

  8. Weather Policy: The flowers are not suitable for wet or extremely windy outdoor conditions. If the event is affected by weather, and the flowers cannot be safely displayed, no refund will be provided. The hirer is responsible for ensuring safe and appropriate placement.

  9. Liability: Ventana Art Space is not liable for injury, accident, or damage arising from misuse of the flowers.

  10. Photography & Promotion: Ventana Art Space may take photographs of the flowers once installed. These images may be used for promotional purposes (website, social media, marketing materials). No images of people will be used without express permission.

Ventana Crepe Flower Purchase Agreement

This Agreement sets out the terms and conditions for purchasing handmade crepe paper flowers and lamps from Ventana. By purchasing, the Buyer agrees to the following:

1. Product Nature

  • Each flower is handmade and unique. Small variations in colour, size, and form are part of their handmade character and not defects.

  • Paper flowers are delicate and intended for decorative use only. They are not toys and should be kept out of reach of small children and pets.

2. Lamps & Electrical Safety

  • Ventana supplies floral lampshades and pendant shades made from crepe paper. These are for use with LED bulbs only.

  • Hot bulbs (e.g., halogen or incandescent) must not be used, as they pose a fire risk.

  • Buyer must ensure lampshades are fitted correctly and that crepe paper is never in direct contact with the bulb.

  • Ventana strongly recommends using a secondary lampshade or diffuser between the bulb and the paper shade.

  • Ventana is not liable for any damage, injury, or incident resulting from incorrect or unsafe use of lamps or shades.

3. Care & Maintenance

  • Crepe paper is sensitive to sunlight, moisture, and handling.

  • Flowers should be kept out of direct sunlight to prevent fading. If displayed near windows, rotate or move occasionally to extend their life.

  • Avoid exposure to damp or humid conditions, which may cause warping or damage.

  • Though delicate in appearance, paper flowers are more durable than they look. A gentle shake every month or so can help release any settled dust.

  • Do not use water or cleaning products.

4. Longevity

  • With proper care, crepe flowers can last for years, but fading, wear, or natural changes over time are expected. Ventana does not guarantee colourfastness or indefinite durability.

5. Returns & Exchanges

  • Due to the custom and handmade nature of each piece, all sales are final.

  • If a product arrives damaged in transit, Buyer must notify Ventana within 5 business days with photographs, and a replacement or refund will be arranged at Ventana’s discretion.

6. Intellectual Property

  • All designs, patterns, and teaching methods remain the intellectual property of Ventana.

  • Buyers may enjoy and display their purchased pieces but may not reproduce or replicate the designs for resale without permission.

7. Liability

  • Ventana is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use or misuse of purchased products.

  • Buyer accepts full responsibility for safe placement, handling, and display of purchased items.
