Intermediate Watercolour course
Welcome back! This six-week intermediate watercolour course is designed for those who’ve completed the beginner course and are ready to go a little deeper, a little slower, and a little braver with their painting.
Together, we’ll build on the foundations you already know — water control, layering, brushwork, and composition — and begin bringing more intention, confidence, and personal style into your work. Rather than rushing through exercises, we’ll complete artworks together, allowing time for observation, problem-solving, and refinement as we paint.
Over the six weeks, we’ll work through a small collection of paintings, including forest mushrooms, a cottage scene, and a rooster. We’ll play it by ear, letting each artwork take the time it needs, with the aim of completing at least three finished pieces across the course.
Each week will have a clear focus, introducing new techniques and challenges that support the artwork we’re creating — whether that’s texture, light and shadow, structure, or expressive detail. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, experiment, and develop your own visual voice within a supportive, relaxed studio environment.
This course is about slowing down, trusting what you’ve learned, and enjoying the process of painting — together.
